MENDACITY (Keppel 2018) E 35” TB (Reckless Abandon X Montmartre) #09-89A.
Ask and you might be told this is a plicata. Or that it’s a variegata. Or even that it’s a luminata. No, this wouldn’t be mendacious, for it is all three: a bicolor luminata-plicata. Light yellow standards with a greenish cast, slightly paler in the center. Falls with an all-over wash of grapejuice purple, the white ground showing mainly as paler veining and fine petal rim, hafts yellow covered by fine grape speckling. Beards are yellow, slight white end area. Blocky flower form with shirred sides. Most stalks with two or three branches, seven buds. We’re not lying. SOLD OUT
